Description

Together with partner architect Fanning Howey, NWL Architects is redefining what 21st-century education will look like for Granite School District. The design and rebuild of sister high schools, Cyprus and Skyline, is a triumph for the district in terms of the precedent it sets for cutting-edge educational design. The schools’ design began with collaborative workshops with administrators and community members to establish project core values and goals. From these workshops, the team formed the guiding principles and imperatives that set these high schools in motion and established a framework for future schools. In collaboration with Granite School District, NWL and Fanning Howey have been exploring design parameters that translate these principles into sites and spaces that meet design intent while developing budget-minded, sustainable solutions for both the district and the community. Cyprus and Skyline, respectively, represent the far western and the far eastern edges of the district boundaries, setting the tone for the district with dynamic, progressive educational facilities that pave the way for bright educational futures. Construction of Skyline High School is estimated to wrap in fall 2025 – an exciting time for the Skyline Eagles to soar to new heights.
