NWLA programmed and designed renovation solutions that addressed the top priority issues facing this aging facility. Multiple options were developed in consultation with stakeholders and a phased construction plan was carefully “designed” to eliminate any impact on student education and safety. Concern over entry prompted a new front entry lobby and exterior plaza directly from new visitor parking through a secure vestibule and into the public areas of the building. the public face of this important educational structure is being greatly improved through modernization of the exterior skin. A 24-foot wide circulation spine connects previously inaccessible north parking lot areas to the student commons and dining area, stretches through the building to the new main entry. Redesigned science labs are upgraded with technology and casework.
