The Jordan River Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was constructed between 1979 and 1981 as the seventh temple in Utah and the second in the Salt Lake valley. The project includes renovation of the complete 149,000 square foot temple, including replacement of the entire mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems, seismic upgrades, and replacement of all of the interior finishes.
