Emery County has struggled for many years maintaining an aging and antiquated indoor pool facility. Both the pool itself and the building structure had become serious liabilities for those who maintained and operated the aquatics facility. In 2007 the County Commission contracted with NWL Architects to assist them in evaluating various replacement options. NWL Architects added Water Design, Inc. to their team as a “pool consultant” and proceded to develop an excellent approach to replacement and ultimately funded by the “Community Impact Board”. The finished project opened in 2009 and consists of a 6 lane 25 yard indoor lap pool, and an outdoor family leisure pool with 0 depth entry, big toy feature, current channel and a large slide. Locker and toilet facilities accomodate both indoor and outdoor patrons. A state-of-the-art “Myrtha” pool structure was used for both pool facilities. The outdoor family pool has a cushioned pool floor.
